life after os!!
WHEEEE!! i hvae not blogged for ages!!! and i don't think i will in the future. i'm sorry to all my ardent fans who tag frequently but are always disappointed with my sports day reanactments. hahahahaha. but this will be good! if you will bear with me.
i shall break down the past few months of my life into segments so it will be easier to write and read:
during o levels and prelims
stuff i did: study. eat. sleep. break. take exams.
english paper - bad
chinese paper - quite bad
e.math paper - good until i discovered my careless mistakes
a.math paper - better than i thought but worst than expected
ss - okay/bad
geog - quite bad
physics - bad
chemistry - bad
biology - okay la. but its the most unexpected
feelings felt: madness [is that a feeling?], anguish, stress, despair, hopelessness, hope, boredom, fatigue, disappointment, disgust, annoyment [??], discouragement, uncertainty, confusement.
after o levels, starting from 16 oct 06, 5.15pm
stuff we did: screamed! cheered! went out to... PS! haha. ate at swensons. watched drama serials, went out. shopped for prom. had fun. REAL fun.
feelings felt: we were temporarily unable to get information on this part as reality hadn't sunk in that our major exams and a major part of our lives was over. but now that it has, they are simply joy, exhilaration, relievedness, and also somewhat nervous, unsure and hesitant about our future. and also rather sad that we're parting but hold hopes of meeting again in vj!
prom night 06
it was boring.
the preparation was fun. went out with zhenluan, jolene and cheryl to shop for prom dresses. at city hall area. and orchard. finally settled for a black one from phuture london. and a black bag from m)phosis. also did make up with cheryl at face bistro holland village. they're good&the staff are nice.
shopped for shoes with ver and julie. found the perfect shoes from DMK bugis. they are perfect on they're own but they were a size too small and didnt really match my dress. oh well. who cares.
prom night was mainly taking photos. everyone was so pretty!!! it was wonderful to look at. haha. and that was about all i did. just look at people and take photos. the food was alright. the games were lame. the mambo princess thing was okay la. it was the highlight. but it really was at the expense of the dancers. the catwalk segment was okay. but it got boring after a while. but they all looked really nice.
i didnt dance. i took photos. was with ver and her clique and we just stood there in a circle looking at each other. we were dancing in our heads. but our bodies weren't moving. hahaha. so in the end all we managed was a wiggle or two.
we were all very tired after that day. looking nice is tiring. so we went home.
prom nights should seriously be held in hotels. holding it in school is just sad and cheapo.
KOREA!!
okay i can't rmb every single thing that happened cuz it was so cold it seemed like everything just flashed past in a daze. haha.
we went on a chan brothers tour. group B, bus A. our tour grouop was the best i think. we had about 8 families, 45 people in total. tour guide was a korean-chinese who's gg to become a singaporean soon. his wife is a singaporean. haha. ver! his name is zhang yuan chang you know!! hahahaha. he was good. but he smokes alot his eye whites were a bit yellowy.
chan brothers tour group leader was cynthia. she's really small sized but very nice and capable. friendly and helpful.
photographer was xiao wu. i dunno his real name. but he was really nice, fun, friendly and his photography skills were not bad. he's really focused and hardworking too. but its hard to make a living on photography.
we went to a whole lot of places. the tour guide added a few. let me try to rmb all of them......
incheon airport
gimpo
daegu
jeju
seoul.
yeah and in between we went to lots and lots and places. those are only the city names. we went to the da chang jin and winter sonata film sites, tangerine farms, ski resort, bonsai garden, ginseng govt shop, everland, lotte world, some mountain, nami island, kimchi making place, ceramic place, some temple, war memorial, ritz carlton hotel in seoul, korea's orchard road, a concept shopping centre, tourist info centre.
yeah. the food there was great! the vegetable wraps were delicious! but honestly, i dont like kimchi. haha. their seaweed was yummy! but they ate steam boat like almost everyday. it got quite sian after a while. but every restaurant's steam boat is different. and they're really healthy. very little oil and fried stuff. haha. it was great.
the shopping was okay la. mostly sold winter wear. but the variety of coats, skirts, stokcings, jackets, hats, scarves, boots, court shoes, pumps, bags, accessories and belts they have there was AMAZING. koreans dress up just like they do in the drama serials. they wear heels to theme parks and stuff. really posh. and they all dress up really well. like even to theme parks or just shopping on the streets they style their hair, put makeup and everything. and we saw a cute trend - friends that hang out in groups esp guys tend to sport the same hair style, same kind of specs and same look basically. it was weird. but in a cute way. haha.
it was so cold. the average temperature was about 0 deg celcius. we usually wore about 4 layers on top - thermals, shirt, sweater, coat. and 2 layers below - thermals and jeans. but when the wind blows.....
8 days was really long. we enjoyed it to the fullest. skiing was the most memorable, i felt, even more than the shopping. haha. we skiied for about 6h. it was fabulous. whoosh!
i am glad to be back in singapore. but it seems hotter than ever before...
vj choir caroling
vj culture is exactly like cedar culture, except that there are guys. people there are friendly, crazy, united, smart and loud.
vj choir is really, the best i've ever been in. haha. okay i'm not in it yet, but i've joined them for a few activites. like the tea party, les miserables concert, and the caroling practices and stuff. they're sops are AMAZING! each one of them can be a soloist and their voices are all so rich and whoa. i think the best 2 are debbie and lydia. haha.
but caroling is crazy. i have to master 18 songs on my own. i was given the score 2 days ago during practice [i was late] and will be performing with them on sunday. it seems quite impossible. and i think it is. performing means memorising both words and tunes. and not all are in english. and the scores are rather hard to read and my voice has deproved and i just realised it has never even reached half of their standard before and OHHH. i should never have joined it.
work at raffles hotel banquet okay, i take back my last sentence. i met many new people at the caroling and they're super fun and nice and crazy and yay. year 0 sops rock! haha. jialing, melody, vicki, sherwin, alena, zhengyi.
and THANK YOU VICKI for telling me about the raffles job and helping me apply and stuff! haha. i cant wait to start work!
CITY WALK WITH CLARA GOH SHU FEN
we were supposed to meet at 11.30am at city hall. so i reached at 11.30 on the dot! and at 11.20 someone msged me and told me she was at SIMEI. good la.
so i went to raffles city toilet [ clara was amazed that i found it by myself - of course la, since she can't do it] and stayed in there for about half an hour. hahaha.
clara goh has rebonded her hair! and she looks nice! too bad we both didnt bring camera. haha and i think im the first to see it.
we went to
marina square
[watch vj choir's caroling, it was great!. eat lunch at pizza hhut, meet vicki]
millenia walk
[for fun - jitterbugs is there!]
raffles hotel
[sign up for my job!]
esplanade library
[which reminds me - i have 2 books to read!! :D million dollar baby and elektra. hahaha.]
and it was so tiring. wheeeeeeeooooh.
alrighty i am done. gonna cut hair and practice piano and the carols. tata!
