1st caroling session
so my appeal to VJ was unsuccessful. the day before i got the news, i went caroling with VJ choir.
it was a bright sunny morning and we were late for church. i went to Church of Our Savior instead of FCBC. it was for a visit. their church was quite similar to ours, except that it was smaller and stuff la. but the feeling of warmth and humility was there. it felt nice. but i still prefer the Worship at our church :D
after that we met liane and aunty rosie. had a chat for a while. then went off to marina square. ate at imperial garden. i support imperisal garden! after i heard the story that it was one of the brothers who split off from crystal jade due to some inheritance thingy. quite cool. i always like the underdog to succeed :D
on my diet! i will lose 5kg by next year march.
1. eat less. don't finish your food [not advisable to follow]
2. exercise [go running when it is not raining]
3. stop liking chocolate
met sherwin first. vicki walked right past us and didnt even know it was us till we called her. hello, we were supposed to be the tall ones. hahahahaha.
changed into the gown. its quite big for me. looked a bit like pyjamas. but then.
warmups backstage and soundcheck. it feels good to strech my vocal chords again, feel the stage thing, feel the whole choir thing again :)
WATERMELONS!!!!! we were watermeloning for the whole way for some songs la! watermeloning is mouthing the words 'watermelons' so it looks like we're singing along when we're actually clueless about the words. try it! with a bit of acting [which melodie demonstrated a relatively convincing one before the show] it looks quite real! haha.

but we, the hardworking and dedicated year zeros have mastered the song. somewhat.
the stage was good in the sense that it was relatively far away from everywhere. so no one could see our watermeloning. but then lo and behold! a vj choir senior [year 3] said it was obvious that we didnt know our words. well. that was only to the professional eye.
we could have been singing a solo mah.
verena and julie were there!! ahhh! they saw the caroling!! but i dont hink they saw our watermeloning la. haha. ver was going to work at pepper lunch. she has been complimented on her good service leh! so SURPRISING right! hahaha. kidding la. good to see you 2 there (:
after that it was a choir outing or so jialing called it. went to taka yoshi. i had the unfortunate honour of sitting opposite daniel thong or how you spell it.
["i know! give sindhu a thong!"
"no need, just give her daniel" -omg!!! kenny!!!]
and was teased throughout the unfortunate lunch. for a moment i was under a psuedo of sarah. haha. i don't lknow why sarah, it was just a name that popped into my head when i was asked for my name (x we were making commotions about the beef balls that vicki and jialing had [ "how come she has balls and you don't have?"] and it was amusing. haha. vj is alot like cedar.
we went to wheelock and started caroling in the underpass. yizha, shixuan and i forgot who else happily walked past and threw coins to us. haha. but we sounded good okay. there was a licensed busker next to us and after we stopped, he started singing. he was good but it sounded like a girl singing but i think it was his voice! dunno la.
then we went to bk. crapped some more....

then we were on our way to the pines. i think. it was pouring. as it has been for the past few days. monsoon has kicked in!
we went to this board room which was our holding area. the year 3 senior was conducting. the audience was really diverse for such a small group! there were caucasians, chinese, indians, old people, young people, middle aged people, young adorable kids, etc.
the singing... vj choir is a good choir. if there you were there and there was one idiot who wasn't singing at some point of time cuz she didnt know the words and actually looked stressed, demoralised and depressed and annoyed, SHE IS NOT PART OF THE CHOIR. she is a relief choir member who lacked practice and was having a tough time. so please forgive her. me. vj choir is a really good choir.
and then. after 15 mins we had to sing again. oooohohhh.....
the Pines people were nice! they provided soft drinks and cookies for us. haha. the cookies were nice! they were kinda festive in a sense. haha.
after that i think they went for dinner outside. i went home!! :D:D
it was sooo tiring. try working on your stomach muscles for half an hour with different intensities, then after 15 mins, work again. its an art. singing is an art. and it is not toally useless... most choir members have relatively flat tummies (:
today's gonna be another day. but i have learned up my scores. unless i get plagued with stage fright, it should be loads better than the previous time.

appeal to ac? stay in sa? i need a clear sign. sigh. jaslyn - i don't think i will go to VJ even if i can after 1st 3 months. its really very very far. like cheryl said, we have to part sooner or later........
but sometimes i wish things would never change. it makes me cry to think i won't be seeing you all again! on grad day i guess i was kinda expecting that we'd all meet in vj again so the reality hasnt sunk in. now that that it has...
